Restaurants are attempting to cut back on portion sizes, while maintaining the appearance that the portion sizes are unchanged. Some tricks include using smaller plates or stretching out food. This is all a move to cut food costs. Ironically, reducing American portion sizes from gigantic to large should also help cut down health care costs.
