Apple (AAPL) bit too high at $118

Considering that 4 short weeks ago, the stock traded at $83, the 40% rise is a bit too much too soon. While probably a good stock to own in the long term -Barclays just upgraded its price target, expect the stock to trade level or down before earnings on April 22.

Telus stock a losing play

Why you should go long on Rogers stock and short on Telus

Me "The cell phone data plan you are offering is more expensive than if I just moved to Rogers and bundled my digital cable, internet and cellphone"

Client services "We don't offer bundling discount since we don't have those other services"

Me "If I have all services on Rogers, it is cheaper than having 2 services on Rogers and 1 on Telus. So reduce the Telus prices so I can stay with Telus"

Client services "You have been a client since 2004, are you telling me that you are going to go to Rogers to save $5 a month?"

Me "Yes."

Client services "I don't believe you. That doesn't make sense"

Consider why Telus is going to lose the Ontario market to Rogers
1. Rogers can offer bundles of cable, internet, home phone, mobile phone and more
2. Rogers has the iphone
3. Rogers uses GSM
4. Rogers has better distribution channels
5. Rogers customer service can't really be much worse than Telus'

Airricking agrees with Goldman, go long on RIM

Goldman analyst upgraded Research in Motion to "buy" prior to earnings on April 2
http://blogs.barrons.com/techtraderdaily/2009/03/26/rimm-goldman-advises-going-long-into-fy-q4-earnings/

As the editor of airricking.com, I agree.

1. I am finally ready to get a Blackberry device that I will pay for myself and is not on the corporate account

2. RIM is going to launch a mobile television service, which I researched when I was an employee there
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/03/26/AR2009032600865.html

3. RIM is an attractive takeover target for Microsoft

4. Disclosure. Airricking stands to make a lot of money if bloggers and analysts can pump the stock to $55 US or convince MS to make an offer at say.. $75

Palm, Rambus should be taken over soon

Both companies have a market cap of less than $1B, but expect them to be bought out for close to double.

Palm might be a good fit to Dell. The inquirer has had a strong record of predicting takeovers

Rambus' option volatility indicates that it might be a target.

Madoff obsesses over squares

When you are rich, you need to have quirks. Apparently Madoff needed everything to be square.

I've decided that when I become a billionaire, I am going to create a quirk that everyone will have to cater to. For example, all my workers must wear aqua colour suits with yellow bow ties...

Time to unload Apple stock

While speculation on Steve Job's health has been a sport for most of the year, normally the tech blogs get it right compared to traditional news sources

Recessionary times - Lipstick

When people are uncertain about the future, they tend to buy lipstick. Does this include men? What are men suppose to buy?
